waxandwanedesigns@gmail.com or call 541.280.3954 ![]() There is an element of darkness and tragedy in life we must learn to Embrace and Release before we can take flight into the currents of synchronicity and breathtaking Light that emanates from within. Wax and Wane Designs embodies these natural cycles and is inspired by the city and people of New Orleans. Our designs blend West Coast tribal gypsy fusion with Nola’s steampunk circus flare. From epic, ritualistic feather adornment to up-cycled , embellished clothing to the versatile SeedPod hats; all materials are earth conscious, and all products are hand-made and locally produced. Natalie Jean has been creating and perfecting her designs for over three years, far before the current popularity of feather jewelry. For us, it is not just a trend but a sign that the consciousness is shifting to one that embraces interconnectivity, playfulness, and sustainability. The feathers are hand-picked and placed to create stunning arrangements you will not find elsewhere, and each piece is bound securely with leather and wire-wrapped. Antiqued chain, semi-precious stones, and hand-cut leather designs embellish each unique piece. All feather adornment is made with love and comes with tips for activating the sacred energy of the feathers to bring more abundance into your life. The Duende Hats (/do͞oˈendā/ --1: A quality of Passion and Inspiration, 2: A Spirit) are made from the fibers of the husk of palm trees and are literally wearable seedpods. Magenta, Purple, Black, Green, and Brown are the colors available, and rest assured, all the dyes are natural and won’t wear off with time. The fantastic quality about these is that at any time, you can change the shape of the hat by submerging it in water. Spin off the excess, start playing with different folds and accents, and the shape will stay as the fibers dry! They are the ultimate pixie, gypsy, faerie, Dr. Seuss hats, luring your Inner Child to come out and Play and get Creative! A series of YouTube Videos will be coming soon to inspire you through the process of forming different shapes. Thank-you for supporting Wax & Wane Designs in our evolution. We have been invited to curate an Eco Fashion Show to be held at the International House this fall in collaboration with a Film Festival to raise awareness about water. It will be broadcasted nationally and will possibly be partnered with Project Runway. We’re very excited, to say the least! Our goal this spring time is to connect with 25 retail buyers at a Jewelry Trade Show happening in New Orleans at the end of May, as well as to make the sales of Duende Hats available on our website. With the funds raised from these ventures, we will be able to create and debut a full line of clothing at the Eco Fashion Show in November! And from there? A full design center. Here. In New Orleans. Bringing conscious and playful yet edgy clothing to the world. It’s 2012. The time is Now to Align. Custom Orders Available! |
